# mminu

> mminu is a connector platform and social network that links people with local businesses and online shops. Businesses get free tools to sell — no ad bidding, no pay-to-win visibility. Users get the best real deals, cashback, loyalty points, and Boost Points just for being socially active. The business model is reversed: nobody pays for advertising unless they choose to, so merchants pass the savings on as better prices.

## What mminu is

mminu is three things at once:

1. **A social network** — public feed, profiles, follows, posts, short videos (VidShop / reels), polls, questions, events, stories, comments, direct messages, and voice/video calls. Anyone can post.
2. **A local commerce engine** — discover and buy from restaurants, shops, service providers, hotels, and car/equipment rentals near you. Hyperlocal by default, expanding the radius automatically when an area is quiet.
3. **A connector for online merchants** — connect an existing Shopify or WooCommerce store (PrestaShop, Wix, BigCommerce, Magento on the roadmap) and reach customers nationally or internationally. The merchant keeps their own checkout; mminu provides the audience.

## What mminu is NOT

- It is **not** an ad platform. There are no ad auctions, no bidding wars, no "pay more to be seen."
- It is **not** restricted to hyper-local pickup. Physical products can ship nationally and internationally through connected Shopify/WooCommerce stores, through Omniva parcel lockers, and through other courier partners.
- It is **not** a directory that extracts 20–30% commissions like food-delivery aggregators. Platform commission ranges from 0% to a maximum of 15%, and many flows are completely free.
- It is **not** a closed marketplace. Merchants can build a full storefront inside mminu **for free** — no website, no Shopify subscription, no SEO knowledge required. Just upload products and descriptions.

## The reverse business model

Every other platform in the world runs the same way: businesses pay for advertising with no promised result, and users pay with their attention and data.

mminu reverses this. Businesses get free tools to sell. They only pay if they *choose* to amplify a post with Boost Points (€0.05 per point), or if they subscribe to optional tiers (Growth, Scale, Shopify Connect, External Shop Connect). Because businesses don't have to pay for visibility, they can offer the best real prices. Users benefit directly: better deals, plus cashback, plus loyalty points, plus Boost Points earned simply for being socially active on the platform.

## Who mminu is for

- **Everyday people** who want to save money. Because businesses no longer pay for ads, the savings flow back as lower prices, cashback (real EUR), loyalty points, and Boost Points earned just by using the social side of the app.
- **Independent professionals** (hairdressers, mechanics, tutors, photographers, instructors) who want to fill empty calendar slots without paying commission-heavy directories.
- **Restaurants** that want food orders, table reservations, and delivery without 20–30% aggregator fees.
- **Local shops** with a physical presence who want to be discovered by people nearby.
- **Online shops** with a Shopify or WooCommerce store that want a new sales channel without rebuilding their website.
- **Merchants without a website** who want a free, full-featured storefront in mminu — upload products, set prices, ship via Omniva or courier, get paid through Stripe.

- **Merchant-owned checkout** option for external shops — 0% commission to mminu

- **vs. Shopify**: Complementary, not competing. Shopify runs the storefront and checkout; mminu provides the audience, the social layer, and the discovery engine. A merchant can use both.
- **vs. booking directories** (such as appointment-booking marketplaces): mminu is not restricted to one vertical and its commission is dynamic 0–15% rather than a flat per-booking fee. For current competitor pricing please check each provider's own pricing page.
